It’s really more Pahlavists vs people who support Iranians and want them to one day have more of a say in deciding their leaders. But the realist view on that is as you saw recently their security concerns are paramount and perhaps the IRGC really is best suited for presenting a unified front. The United States and Israel, not the Islamic Republic, are why Iran *cannot* be a democracy.
That said Luis is perhaps best equipped to answer your question. Broad strokes we have a lot of Persians but they all came around 1979-1980 running away from the Ayatollah and most of the Iranian Jews are here too. So it’s biased as fuck and they are basically a cult for wanting the Retard Shah (his son) installed as leader.
