China has executed 11 members of a powerful crime family linked to 14 murders and a criminal empire worth more than $1 billion, officials said.

The Ming family, described as one of the “four families” dominating northern Myanmar’s underworld, allegedly ran large scam operations and illegal gambling networks in the border town of Laukkaing.
