This isn’t a thread to hear yours. It’s to discuss mine. Guys and girls dressed in team gear, pregaming in the dorm room hallway. One guy takes a deep breath and whispers “what’s that? That over there?”

Everyone went silent. They hear printing from my dorm room. But it wasn’t normal printing. It sounded as consistent and steady as the New York Times. 500 pages per minute and this was in 2005. A gift for my graduation, a Konica Minolta inkjet. More than most people’s car at the time.

“Click click click” that was me stapling scholarly articles taking advantage of my newly activated student Jstor account. All while my classmates went to cheer on men throwing a ball and holding their girls tight who would eventually go have sex with those men and other men in frats.

The point of this is scholarship is the seed that makes you who you are. Not football. To this day I still have that alumni account and collect disability that allows me to continue that life.

Very nice atmospheric reminiscence. While ruminating on who you were then and who you are now is there anything you would have done different along the way?
