Btw, the same thing is true of the filibuster, the blue slip, and legislative gridlock in general -- obviously it sucks to have power and have a totally broken Congress, but on balance (i.e., summing together the detriments of a worthless congress when it's cons with the benefits of a worthless congress when it's libs), it's a net benefit that the institution just be destroyed for everyone. I presume you support the filibuster, though, because it has inertia, whereas you're not used to an Absolute heckler's veto on all public speech yet. But you'll get there.

What's funny is that if there's ever a really GREAT con leader/movement, it can have public speaking back anyway, by just beating/killing those who would interrupt.
