I have a low cost basis and trying to time the market which is still down 70% from peak seems foolish. I think now is the time to hold. If things get truly crazy again, will not hesitate to sell again. I believe BTC will see a new ATH in a couple of years and most of the top 50 coins should get dragged up with it. All the while, crypto is getting more and more exposed as more and more shitcoins pump until mainnet and then dump/die. It seems like it would be hella easy to just HAVE USE CASES, like something like Nano or its chinese equivalent being usable for payments on alibaba, but this NEVER happens or gets any closer to happening. Winkelshits have GUSD, why not partner with some random amazon wannabe like overstock.com. I mean why hasn't something happened that has made crypto tangible and at least usable for buying shit given that it's meant to at least in some part be a currency. Like look at actual "tech" companies, they have lots of pie in the sky shit but at the end of the day google/facebook just make money because they sell advertising. Crypto needs to have some kind of rational baseline use case to give it legitimacy to people who aren't insane. From there, it would have a foundation to expand into nonsense like "smart contracts" and "nodes" and "threshold signautures" and "hard forks" and shit. |

Date: June 5th, 2019 11:34 PM Author: histrionic market Of course the space is still 99% hype and little substance. There are one or two legitimate use cases right now and that is BTC as digital gold and maybe privacy coins like monero. And gambling dapps.
The next BTC halving is in 11 months. All I am saying is that before the door is shut on dapps getting widespread adoption, there is time for another bull market led by BTC. After that though, without actual adoption and usage, I agree almost all of this shit will be worthless except for BTC.
As far as currency goes, why are normal people going to use BTC or whatever as currency when the price is subject to such drastic swings? Maybe in the future BTC will be more stable but for now it seems completely ill suited to replace the dollar, not to mention the regulatory risks. |
